Tom's Full Back Story:

Tom was born in Montreal. His parents immigrated from Greece and his father spent time in the construction industry. They moved to five cities across Canada by the time Tom was eight years old. His father had told Tom of the time he worked as an electrician in Gillam, Manitoba where they placed him in a control room and asked him to keep an eye on all the gages. Jokingly, one day he slept for 12 hours and they paid him overtime.

In 1973 Tom moved to Kelowna, BC. His father opened three restaurants and Tom worked in all three of them. These restaurants opened from 4pm to 4am and his parents never had the time or energy to follow-up and support him in school. Tom got involved with the wrong crowd, fell behind in his grades and eventually ended up failing grade eight & grade nine. Since it was a middle school, Tom’s classmates had moved on to high school. Tom lost all hope in grade ten and got into trouble when a student bullied and threatened Tom with violence. Being the black sheep, Tom got the blame. Determined to succeed, Tom later completed his grade 12 education outside of High school. In 1983, Tom’s parents closed down the business and relocated to Ashcroft where they continued in the construction and operations of two more restaurants. Tom joined the Ashcroft Fire Dept and remained for five years.

In 1993 Tom moved to Greece for an extended holiday. Enrolled in the Army and after completing his national tour of duty, met his wife. In 1994 Tom moved back to Canada with his wife where they lived in Abbotsford, BC. Tom’s wife gave birth to their first child and soon after they moved back to Ashcroft to work in the restaurant which had since been leased out. In 1998 Tom opened his first café and operated it until 2003. During that time something happened that forever changed Tom’s business life. A movie was being filmed starring Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman. Tom got hired as security with the Teamsters and had a short skit as an extra. For the first time, Tom realized that there was, life outside of the restaurant business. However, wanting to continue his passion for the restaurant business, Tom moved to Kamloops in 2003 and built another two restaurants.

After nearly 20 years in the hospitality industry and four young children, Tom sat down with his wife and discussed the prospect of changing careers. Tom didn’t want his children to have the same fate in school as he had. Tom sold the restaurant 2007 and with his wife’s blessings, Tom got licensed as a Real Estate Agent in January of 2008. Tom sold his first house in the first two weeks of getting licensed. The industry standard is nearly six months. Tom’s income continued to increase year after year while other agents were leaving the business. Tom became a top listing agent in his office for the next several years. In 2016 Tom and his wife decided to move to the lower mainland. Tom joined RE/MAX and sold two homes in the first three weeks of moving to Vancouver. Tom lives in East Vancouver with his family and cherishes the moments he can assist his clients during the real estate sales process. Tom spends thousands of dollars per year to becoming the best listing agent a homeowner can have. Let Tom’s knowledge & expert marketing system be your advantage!
